"Bryan is an excellent player and teacher. He is
continually practicing and his teaching skills are always improving. Bryan's
dedication to the drums is at the highest level."
Neil Garthly, owner of The Academy of Drums & host of Drumology TV
Bryan
was drawn to the drums when he participated in the sixth grade school band.
He was hungry to learn more, so Bryan studied privately with Bob Acquaviva,
Adam Fischel, Joe Bergamini, and has taken lessons from Dom Famularo, Gene Lake,
and John Riley. Bryan has played and toured with such bands as Peace Dog, Big
Boss, Fuzz the World, Time Capsule, New Life Crisis, Wayne & Sudie, Gotham City
Swing Band, Danny Walsh, The Fill-ins, Ocean Jazz Trio, Planet
Spam, Voodoo Vibe, and Devil Bus. He currently works with Boons Farmand
Moe
Hughes. Bryan's playing can be heard on recordings with Peace Dog, Fuzz the
World, and Moe Hughes. In 1995 and 1997, Bryan was voted the best drummer award
at the Asbury Park Music Awards. Bryan started teaching privately and was soon
noticed by Neil Garthly and was asked to join the Academy of Drums. Bryan has
been teaching at the Academy since 1998. He also donates his time and drumming
knowledge by performing drum clinics for the Village Fun Day, Middletown Village
Elementary School, the Regional Day School, and the Algonquin Arts Theater
with
Neil Garthly. In 2003, Bryan and some members of Boon’s Farm and Moe
Hughes recorded under the name Big Baby Ernie. Since then Bryan and Big Baby
Ernie has toured the East Coast and in the United Kingdom to support their
debut CD “Where I Live”. While touring the UK, BBE taught at several
local school workshops and performed in some of Britain’s hottest clubs.
Bryan can be seen 6 nights a week with Big Baby Ernie playing covers and original
music in the style of Blues, Funk, Rock, Hip-Hop, and Jazz. To hear Big Baby
Ernie, please visit myspace.com/bigbabyernie.
